About Us

Spotlight: Mrs. Town

Studies show that early exposure to music has a lasting and beneficial impact on young children’s learning and well-being. Thanks to your contributions to DESEF, we are able to ensure that all TK and Kindergarten students at Walt Disney have an enriching music education from the start by attending class with Mrs. Town every week.

There is no funding from our District for a TK/K music program, but DESEF is filling the gap.

Mrs. Town is a busy mom of 5 and active WDPTA Board member. She loves heading up the annual Variety show. While working as a labor and delivery nurse in Michigan, Mrs. Town decided to go back to school for another bachelor’s degree...in music. She has studied voice, piano, French horn, and organ. Her favorite things are experimenting with various musical styles, both vocally and on the piano; and dancing, even when the music is only in her head.

Mrs. Town would like to thank the WD community for supporting our littlest learners, music, and DESEF.

What is DESEF?

The Disney Elementary School Education Foundation (DESEF) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit fundraising organization that is run by parent volunteers. DESEF is the primary fundraising organization at Walt Disney Elementary School. State funding for public schools in California is among the lowest in the nation. Our goal is to "fill the funding gaps" so that all students in TK-5 grades benefit from an enriched academic experience at Walt Disney. Without the generous donations from families and businesses, many programs and staff positions would cease to exist at our school.

Mission Statement

DESEF's purpose is to enrich the academic, artistic, social, and athletic education of the children at Walt Disney. We raise funds to pay for school programs, personnel, equipment, and services that are not funded through the school district. Please view the DESEF Funding Table 2017-18 for a list of programs and services that DESEF will support this school year at Walt Disney.

DESEF needs you! There are countless opportunities to get involved, including board member positions, event chairs, and committee members. If you are interested in volunteering, please contact DESEF President Laura DiGiovanni at desedfoundation@comcast.net

Tax Information for Donors

Donations to DESEF may be tax deductible (Tax ID# 20-3046825). Please consult your tax advisor. To request a receipt for tax purposes, please email desedfoundation@comcast.net.
