Walt Disney Breakfast Book Club

If you have signed up your children for Breakfast Book Club (BBC), PTA thanks you!  The registration and payment deadline for those who still intend to sign up is September 12th

BBC is run entirely by volunteer parents.  We have received many volunteer forms from parents who are able to give a little time to participate in their child’s experience at Breakfast Book Club.  This makes it possible for all the children to have a book club.

At this time, we are still in need of: more Adult Discussion Leaders; and a BBC Beverage Chairperson.

An Adult Discussion Leader typically takes the lead in preparing an activity for their child’s grade (or small group) only a couple of times or so during the year.  The remaining months, a leader aims to help other discussion leaders in their child’s grade supervise and direct the kids during the activity.  Sometimes parent leaders have to miss a month or two due to unforeseen events or work travel, etc.  That’s ok.  *We will provide help and try to pair you with an experienced leader if you have not done this before.

A BBC Beverage Chairperson buys (at Costco) and brings orange juice and a box of hot chocolate packets, along with beverage cups and paper towels.  They bring a small, stainless, electric warming urn (provided) and prepare some hot chocolate with water from the MPR kitchen.  They have assistance with serving the beverages, and, at the end, pack up their table, bringing leftover cups, hot chocolate packets, the urn, etc., home for use the next month.  Two people may share this position – dividing the year in half between them (i.e., Nov. – Feb. and March – June), or one person may handle this position.

BBC meets just 8 times during the year.

If you have not yet volunteered to assist with your child’s experience at BBC, and would like to, we’d love to show you how!

If you have already volunteered to serve food or beverages, but are interested in learning how to be a Discussion Leader, and to spend that half hour of BBC with your child and his peers, please let us know now.

You may fill out the adjacent Volunteer Interest Form if you are able to help our children have the best BBC experience!
